Until now, each time the dataset was changed, users had to create structured summaries from the full text using generative AI and then manually prepare application–problem matrices or problem–solution matrices. The optional service Patentfield AIR offers a system where users can select which LLM to use from among multiple candidates. It enables activities such as analyzing competitors’ patent portfolios to gain insights into R&D strategies, evaluating new invention proposals against prior art, identifying technology trends, and discovering “white spaces” as opportunities for innovation. In this way, the patent database can be leveraged as a strategic simulation space for R&D planning and M&A target selection.
