2026年9月28日、ディープラーニングの先駆者であるジェフリー・ヒントン氏（トロント大学名誉教授）やヨシュア・ベンジオ氏（モントリオール大学教授・Mila所長）をはじめとする22名のAI研究者および政策専門家が、AI研究開発（R&D）の自動化が急激な技術進歩を引き起こす「知能爆発（intelligence explosion）」の蓋然性とリスク、その政策対応を論じた共同ワーキングペーパーを公開しました。

The Impact of an Intelligence Explosion Driven by the Automation of AI R&D on Intellectual Property Work
On September 28, 2026, a group of 22 AI researchers and policy experts, including deep learning pioneers Geoffrey Hinton (professor emeritus at the University of Toronto) and Yoshua Bengio (professor at the Université de Montréal and director of Mila), released a joint working paper examining the likelihood and risks of an “intelligence explosion”—a surge in technological progress triggered by the automation of AI research and development (R&D)—and potential policy responses.
