特許SDI（Selective Dissemination of Information：選択的情報配信／特許定期監視）調査への生成AIの浸透は、従来の「新着公報の全件目視と人手による要約・対比」を前提とした直線的な作業から、AIによる「構造化・一次フィルタリング」と人間による「多層的検証・戦略判断」を組み合わせた協働モデルへと刷新されてきています。

Commercial Patent SDI Services—Current Status and Future Outlook
The growing adoption of generative AI is transforming patent SDI (Selective Dissemination of Information, or periodic patent monitoring) workflows. The traditional linear process, based on the manual review of every newly published patent document and the manual preparation of summaries and comparisons, is evolving into a collaborative model that combines information structuring and initial filtering by AI with multilayered verification and strategic judgment by humans.
In 2025–2026, Japan’s major patent database providers appear to have integrated generative AI capabilities for summarization, relevance assessment, and search query generation into their SDI workflows.
I asked generative AI to conduct an in-depth analysis of the current state and future outlook of commercial patent SDI services offered by vendors in Japan. Please take a look at the findings.
