島津製作所が自社の知的財産部で培った実務ノウハウを凝縮し、知財業務を自動化する知財業務自動化SaaS提供の子会社「株式会社Genzo AI」を設立しました。
本サービスは、ベテラン部員の高度な思考プロセスを独自のプロンプトとして形式知化した点に最大の特徴があり、発明の発掘から特許出願、侵害予防調査までを一気通貫で支援します。生成AIの課題であるハルシネーションを厳格なプロセス管理で抑制しており、先行導入された社内運用では多大なコスト削減と工数短縮を実現しました。
共同出資者のIPエージェントと連携し、専門知識が不足する中堅・中小企業や大学へもこの高度な仕組みを普及させる「知財業務の民主化」を目指しています。

Shimadzu Corporation Establishes Genzo AI, a Subsidiary Providing IP Workflow Automation SaaS
Shimadzu Corporation has established a new subsidiary, Genzo AI Co., Ltd., which offers a SaaS platform for automating intellectual property (IP) operations. The platform encapsulates the practical expertise cultivated within Shimadzu’s in-house IP department and translates it into an automated system.
The core feature of this service lies in formalizing the advanced thinking processes of experienced IP professionals into proprietary prompts, thereby converting tacit knowledge into explicit, reusable knowledge. It provides end-to-end support across the entire IP workflow—from invention discovery to patent filing and infringement prevention searches.
To address one of the major challenges of generative AI—hallucinations—the system incorporates rigorous process management, ensuring reliability and accuracy. In its initial internal deployment, the platform has already achieved significant cost reductions and substantial improvements in operational efficiency.
In collaboration with its co-investor, an IP agent firm, the initiative aims to promote the “democratization of IP operations” by making this advanced system accessible to small and medium-sized enterprises and universities that may lack specialized expertise.
