OpenAIがAIのレベルを5段階で評価、現在レベル１

OpenAIのAGI（Artificial General Intelligence：汎用人工知能、想定外の状況でも自ら学習し、能力を応用して処理することができる、人間に近い知能を持つ人工知能）開発に至る5段階システムが公表されています。

1. チャットボット：会話能力を持つAI
2. 推論者：人間レベルの問題解決能力を持つAI
3. エージェント：ユーザーに代わってアクションを取れるシステム
4. イノベーター：発明や発見を支援できるAI
5. 組織：組織全体の仕事を行えるAI

現在、OpenAIは、ChatGPTを支えるGPT-4oのような自社のテクノロジーは、会話型インタラクションを行えるAIを包含するレベル1に位置すると考えており、「推論者」と呼ばれるレベル2に達しようとしているとのことです。この「推論者」レベルのAIシステムは、博士号レベルの教育を受けた人間と同等の基本的な問題解決能力を持つとされています。

OpenAI Rates AI Levels on a Five-Stage Scale, Currently at Level 1
 
OpenAI has revealed a five-stage system for developing AGI (Artificial General Intelligence: an artificial intelligence with human-like intelligence capable of learning and adapting to unforeseen situations). The stages are as follows:

1. Chatbots, AI with conversational language
2. Reasoners, human-level problem-solving
3. Agents, systems that can take actions
4. Innovators, Al that can aid in invention
5. Organizations, Al that can do the work of an organization

Currently, OpenAI believes that its technology, such as GPT-4 which powers ChatGPT, falls into Level 1, encompassing AI capable of conversational interaction. They are now aiming to reach Level 2, the "Reasoner" level. AI systems at this level are expected to possess basic problem-solving abilities equivalent to those of a person with a Ph.D.
