ELYZA-Thinking-1.0 (LLM-jp-4 Version) Made Freely Available
On October 2, 2026, ELYZA, a member of the KDDI Group, made two reasoning models—“ELYZA-Thinking-1.0-llm-jp-4-33b” and “ELYZA-Thinking-1.0-llm-jp-4-32b-a3b”—freely available. Both models are based on “LLM-jp-4,” developed by Japan’s National Institute of Informatics (NII).
I asked generative AI to conduct an in-depth investigation into these models’ features, reception, and evaluations, including an assessment of whether their reasoning capabilities surpass those of the o1 and o3 models. Please refer to the findings.
Please note that these AI-generated research and analysis results are based solely on publicly available information, do not necessarily reflect the actual state of affairs, and may contain errors. Please keep these limitations in mind when reviewing the findings.
