The performance gap among LLM models on “ARC-AGI-2,” a benchmark designed to measure AI’s “fluid intelligence” (the ability to adapt to novel situations), has become extremely pronounced. The capabilities assessed by ARC-AGI-2—such as abstract reasoning, adaptation to new patterns, and generalization—are critical for fundamentally understanding patent documents, improving the accuracy of prior art searches, and evaluating the novelty and inventive step of inventions.
