レゾナックの知的財産分野への生成AI活用

レゾナックは、今年１月、過去蓄積してきたデータや文書を、生成AIにより対話形式で活用できる社内システムChat Resonacを構築したことをプレスリリースしていましたが、さらに、生成AIを使い蓄積した研究データの有効活用や、特許調査や文書作成の効率化、知財戦略の強化も図っているということです。例として、特許の要約・グルーピングができる特化型アプリを使うことで、人による特許調査と比べて作業時間を5分の1に短縮でき注目特許を早期発見に役立っている事例が紹介されています。
 
レゾナックの生成A1の特徴は、①過去の実験データやノウハウを共有し、ベテランから若手への技術継承を支援、②特許の要約や分類にかかる時間を5分の1に短縮し、グローバルでの特許網構築を加速、③各部署が業務にあった機能の生成Alを自主的に提案し、25以上の特化型アプリの開発につながっている、ということです。
 
また、特化型のChat Resonacでは、特許調査や文章作成など様々な機能を実装しており、社内マニュアル・規定集の対話型検索、社内リソース検索（調達購買履歴、製品情報、有識者）、安全対策（過去事例、リスク検索）、文書作成支援（申請書、要約・翻訳）、顧客対応(Q&A、営業情報の提供）、プログラム作成などR&D支援、という例が挙げられています。
 
レゾナックでは、従来より、全社横断的なAI利用推進の取り組みの一環として、知的財産分野へのAIの活用に積極的に取り組んでいて、国内SDIへの類似順ソートAI『ai-SRT』を開発し、国外対応版も開発、日本IBM（株）との共同開発による特許読解支援システム『ai-PAT』、成蹊大学と共同開発した用途探索システムAIなどが社内運用されています。
さらに『効率的・効果的に事業判断ができるAIの開発』にも積極的に取り組んでいるとのことで、今後の更なる成果が期待されます。

Utilization of Generative AI in the Intellectual Property Field by Resonac
 
In January of this year, Resonac announced the construction of an in-house system called Chat Resonac, which enables the use of past accumulated data and documents in a conversational format with generative AI. Furthermore, Resonac is also working on effective utilization of accumulated research data, efficiency improvements in patent research and document creation, and strengthening of intellectual property strategies using generative AI. For example, it was introduced that by using a specialized app capable of summarizing and grouping patents, work time can be reduced to one-fifth compared to human patent research, aiding in the early discovery of notable patents.
 
The characteristics of Resonac's generative AI include: 1) sharing past experimental data and know-how to support technical succession from veterans to juniors, 2) reducing the time required for patent summarization and classification to one-fifth, thereby accelerating the construction of a global patent network, and 3) each department voluntarily proposing generative AI suitable for their work, leading to the development of over 25 specialized apps.
 
Additionally, the specialized Chat Resonac offers various functions such as patent research and document creation, including conversational search for in-house manuals and regulations, in-house resource search (procurement history, product information, experts), safety measures (past incidents, risk search), document creation support (applications, summaries, translations), customer support (Q&A, sales information provision), and R&D support such as program creation.
 
Resonac has been actively working on utilizing AI in the field of intellectual property as part of its efforts to promote the use of AI across the company. This includes the development of the similarity sorting AI for domestic SDI "ai-SRT", an international version of the same, a patent reading assistance system "ai-PAT" developed in collaboration with IBM Japan Ltd., and a usage exploration system AI developed with Seikei University, all of which are in operation within the company. Furthermore, Resonac is actively working on developing AI that can make business decisions efficiently and effectively, with further achievements expected in the future.
