生成AIが企業の知財戦略を変える

２月７日付けの「生成AIが企業の知財戦略変える、即時出願やアイデア創出に活用」という日経クロステックの記事は、今年１月に行われた金沢工業大学（KIT）と知的財産大学院協議会（JAUIP）が知財実務へのAI活用をテーマに開催した『人工知能（AI）を活用した知的財産実務の現状と今後』を取り上げています。
『生成AI（人工知能）で知的財産（知財）業務が大きく変わろうとしている。出願書類の作成支援などで業務負担を軽減するにとどまらず、AIによって大量の出願が短期間で可能になったり、アイデア創出の段階からAIを使うことでより効率的に発明したりできる。業務にとどまらず、企業の知財戦略を根本から変える可能性がある。』
「AIで特許出願は質から量に転換するだろう」というAI Samurai代表取締役白坂一弁理士の話には多少違和感を感じますが、「AIはアイデア創出において、人の能力を拡張する」というAxelidea代表取役西田泰士弁理士の話には共感します。
生成AIで知財業務が大きく変わろうとしているのは間違いありません。

The article from Nikkei XTECH dated February 7th, titled "Generative AI Changes Corporate IP Strategies, Utilized for Immediate Applications and Idea Creation," covers the event held in January this year by Kanazawa Institute of Technology (KIT) and the Japan Advanced Institute of Industrial Property (JAUIP) on the theme of AI utilization in intellectual property (IP) practices, "Current Status and Future of Intellectual Property Practices Utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI)."
"Intellectual property (IP) work is poised to undergo significant changes with generative AI (artificial intelligence). Beyond reducing the workload for tasks such as application document preparation, AI enables a large volume of applications to be processed in a short period and makes invention more efficient from the idea creation stage by using AI. It has the potential to fundamentally change not only the tasks but also the corporate IP strategy."
I feel somewhat uncomfortable with the statement by Hajime Shirasaka, CEO of AI Samurai, that 'AI will shift patent applications from quality to quantity,' but I agree with the statement by Yasushi Nishida, CEO of Axelidea, that 'AI extends human capabilities in idea creation.'
It is undeniable that generative AI will significantly change IP work.
