生成AIが学術ジャーナルで果たす役割

2024年9月10日に開催された第2024年度1回J-STAGEセミナー「新たなJ-STAGE中長期戦略により目指す未来とジャーナルの取り組み」の資料と講演動画が10月15日に公開されました。
その中の講演「オープンサイエンスと生成AI時代のJ-STAGEの可能性と課題」（林 和弘氏　文部科学省科学技術・学術政策研究所）では、学術ジャーナルの世界でも、⽣成AIは査読機能⾃体をある程度代替しはじめており、生成AIが良い/あやしい論⽂、著者、研究機関が浮き彫りにしてきており、「生成AIの活用はもう本当にいろんなところにすでにもうデフォルトで入り始めていてこれから大きな変化を起こす」ことが述べられています。

The Role of Generative AI in Academic Journals
 
On October 15, the materials and lecture video for the 2024 1st J-STAGE Seminar, “Future Goals and Journal Initiatives Under the New J-STAGE Medium- to Long-term Strategy,” held on September 10, 2024, were released. In the lecture titled “The Possibilities and Challenges of J-STAGE in the Era of Open Science and Generative AI,” presented by Mr. Kazuhiro Hayashi from the National Institute of Science and Technology Policy, Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology, it was noted that in the world of academic journals, generative AI is beginning to partially substitute for peer review functions. Furthermore, generative AI is increasingly highlighting high-quality or questionable papers, authors, and research institutions, emphasizing that “the use of generative AI has already started becoming a default in many areas and is set to drive significant change going forward.”
