4月に入って5000件以上公開：ソフトバンクの大量特許出願戦略

2023年9月に特定の企業の大量出願があり前年に比べ1万件レベルで出願増があったことが特許庁の資料で公表されており、ソフトバンクGによるものと考えられていました。これまで9月25日出願分迄公開されていますので、出願後に取り下げられていなければ、あと数日で4,000件以上公開される可能性があります。
遠からず、生成AIを駆使したソフトバンクの特許出願戦略が明らかになるものと思われます。

6ページに「この上半期を見ますと、前年同期比9.6％で、大きく増加ということになりますが、真ん中あたりを御覧いただければ、９月に緑のところが１万件レベルでググッと上がってございまして、こちらは、報道等で御案内のところがあるかもしれませんが、特定の企業様が大量の出願をされたということで、これ一事でこの9.6％を大きく評価することはなかなか難しいところがございますが、ただ、ＡＩ関連の出願が、これに限らず、徐々に増えているところでございますので、そうした動きが特許の出願を支えていくのではないかなと考えてございますので、引き続き、下半期の動向を注視する必要があろうかと思ってございます。」

Over 5,000 Applications Published in April: SoftBank’s Massive Patent Filing Strategy

According to materials released by the Japan Patent Office, there was a significant increase in the number of applications—on the order of 10,000 more than the previous year—due to a mass filing by a particular company in September 2023. It is believed that these filings were made by SoftBank Group.
So far, applications filed up to September 25 have been published, and if none have been withdrawn after filing, over 4,000 more applications could be published in the coming days.
It is expected that SoftBank’s patent filing strategy leveraging generative AI will soon become clear.
