初心忘るべからず（30） 知財問題研究会への参加

日本知的財産協会知財問題研究会は、知財部門に新しく配属された管理職を対象に、知的財産についての理解を深めるために設けられたものです。知財部長に就任した直後にこの研究会に参加しました。研究会では、知財部門の運営に関連するテーマを選定し、数名で構成されるグループが半年間にわたって研究を進め、その成果を発表するという形式をとっています。4年間参加したことにより、合計8つのテーマについて研究を行いました。
各参加者が自社の取り組みを発表し、それに基づいて議論を交わすことが多く、自社とは異なるアプローチに多くの驚きを感じました。特に優れた方法については、自社での採用可能性を速やかに検討しました。
研究会の終了後も、OB会として長期にわたる交流があり、様々な相談が可能な人脈を築くことができました。
 
 
Participation in the Intellectual Property Research Group of the Japan Intellectual Property Association
 
The Intellectual Property Research Group, organized by the Japan Intellectual Property Association, is designed for newly appointed managers in the IP (intellectual property) departments to deepen their understanding of intellectual property issues. I joined this research group shortly after being appointed as the head of the IP department. In the research group, themes related to the operation of the IP department are selected, and groups consisting of several members conduct research over a six-month period, culminating in a presentation of their findings. Over the four years of my participation, I engaged in research on a total of eight themes. It was common for participants to present their company's initiatives and discuss them, which often led to surprises due to approaches different from our own. Particularly effective methods were promptly considered for adoption within our company.
 
Even after the conclusion of the research group, ongoing exchanges as part of an alumni association allowed for the building of a network through which various consultations could be made.
