2024年版「世界イノベーション指数」で日本13位

世界知的所有権機関（WIPO）が９月26日に発表した2024年版「世界イノベーション（技術革新）指数」で、133カ国・地域の技術革新の投資と成果を細分化した指標で評価しています。日本は前年と同じ13位でした。特許や知的財産などの指標で高く評価されていますが、国内総生産（GDP）に占める教育費や情報通信技術（ICT）の輸出などが「弱み」とされています。
首位は14年連続でスイス。以下、スウェーデン、アメリカ、シンガポール、イギリス、韓国、フィンランド、オランダ、ドイツ、デンマークと続き、11位の中国や37位のトルコ、39位のインドなどが「この10年間で急速に上昇した」と指摘されています。

Japan Ranked 13th in 2024 Global Innovation Index
 
The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) released the 2024 Global Innovation Index on September 26, which evaluates the investment and results of technological innovation in 133 countries and regions through a detailed index. Japan was ranked 13th, the same as last year. Although Japan scores highly in patents and intellectual property, its education spending as a percentage of GDP and its exports of information and communication technology (ICT) are considered "weaknesses".
Switzerland has been in first place for 14 consecutive years. It is followed by Sweden, the United States, Singapore, the United Kingdom, South Korea, Finland, the Netherlands, Germany and Denmark. China, ranked 11th, Turkey, ranked 37th, and India, ranked 39th, are considered to have "risen rapidly in the last 10 years".
