生成AIが知財業務を変える　PatentSight+ に Protégé登場

知財分析の現場に新たな革新が訪れようとしています。特許情報分析ソリューション「PatentSight+：パテントサイトプラス」に、生成AIを活用した知財アシスタント「LexisNexis Protégé™：プロテジェ」が搭載されるということです。2025年11月の正式リリースを目指し、すでにデモンストレーションが公開されています。

公開されたデモでは、ボッシュ社が買収候補を探すシナリオを題材に、電動モーター関連の中小企業を抽出するプロセスを実演していました。

候補企業の特許ポートフォリオ、技術領域、ビジネス情報を統合的に提示

さらに、eバイク関連特許を「課題―解決策―効果」に整理して要約する機能も披露されました。これは日本市場からの強い要望を受けて開発された機能だということです。

Generative AI Transforms IP Operations: Protégé Arrives in PatentSight+
A new wave of innovation is about to reach the frontlines of intellectual property (IP) analysis. The patent analytics solution PatentSight+ is set to be equipped with LexisNexis Protégé™, an IP assistant powered by generative AI. The official release is planned for November 2025, with demonstrations already made public.
LexisNexis Protégé has the potential to elevate IP information into the very foundation of corporate strategy, offering one of the most highly anticipated features in IP analytics that may reshape the way strategic decisions are made. Traditionally, IP analysis has involved handling patent data, competitive research, and market trends separately, later integrating them through human judgment. Protégé revolutionizes this workflow by transforming ambiguous user queries into IPC codes or suitable search parameters, combining them with market intelligence and business context, and delivering insights that directly support strategic decision-making.
In a public demo, Bosch’s search for acquisition targets served as a case study, showing how Protégé extracted small and mid-sized companies in the electric motor sector.

Flexibly interprets conditions such as “exclude large corporations”
Converts vague requests like “rare-earth-free technology” into valid search queries
Integrates patent portfolios, technical domains, and business information of candidate companies

Additionally, a feature was showcased that summarizes e-bike–related patents in terms of Problem–Solution–Effect. This was reportedly developed in direct response to strong requests from the Japanese market.
