司法分野で人工知能（AI）を使う試みが国内外で進んでいて、人工知能研究と法学を融合させた「人工知能法学」の第一人者である情報・システム研究機構人工知能法学研究支援センター長の佐藤健氏が、人工知能法学の基本から、法学に生成AIを応用する取り組みの現状や課題、自身が開発した判決推論システム「プロレグ(PROLEG)」について、2024年11月14日に日本記者クラブで話した内容がYouTubeにアップされています。
ヨーロッパではITと法律をともに学べる大学があるそうで、日本ではITと法律と両方の知識を持つ人がいないのは将来を考えると問題、育成の場が必要とのことでした。

The Day AI Makes Judicial Decisions
Efforts to use artificial intelligence (AI) in the judicial field are progressing both domestically and internationally. Professor Ken Sato, Director of the Artificial Intelligence and Law Research Support Center at the Research Organization of Information and Systems and a leading expert in the field of "Artificial Intelligence Law" that integrates AI research and legal studies, spoke at the Japan National Press Club on November 14, 2024. His talk, which covered the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence Law, current efforts and challenges in applying generative AI to the legal field, and his own development of a judgment reasoning system called "PROLEG," has been uploaded to YouTube.
He mentioned that, in Europe, there are universities where students can study both IT and law together. In contrast, Japan faces a problem due to the lack of people with expertise in both IT and law, which is a concern for the future. He emphasized the need for a system to nurture such talent.
It was a thought-provoking discussion.
