「先行技術調査」「特許明細書作成」「紛争代理人業務」「調停・仲裁主催者業務」について、実際にChatGPTを利用しているユーザーとして、具体的に何に使えるのかとその限界について、ディスカッションが行われました。興味ある討論でした。

Japan Intellectual Property Arbitration Center 'Generative AI and Intellectual Property'
 
I watched the 25th symposium of the Japan Intellectual Property Arbitration Center titled 'Generative AI and Intellectual Property – Application to the Work of IP Professionals' held on February 20, 2024. The lecture by Attorney Taichi Kakizome on 'The Work of IP Professionals Such as Lawyers and Patent Attorneys with ChatGPT' was informative. Also, the talk by Shota Imai, author of 'How Generative AI Will Change the World' (SB Bunko 642, published on January 7, 2024), a member of the Matsuo Laboratory at the Graduate School of Engineering, University of Tokyo, was insightful. The strengths and weaknesses of generative AI like ChatGPT and their technical background, the biggest issue/hallucinations in generative AI, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, RAG, AI agents.
 
In the panel discussion 'Generative AI and Intellectual Property-Related Work – Its Potential and Limitations', there was a discussion on the practical uses and limitations of ChatGPT for tasks such as 'prior art searches', 'patent specification writing', 'dispute representation', and 'mediation/arbitration organization', from the perspective of actual users. It was an interesting debate. I wished there was an archived video.
