OpenAI o1に、『年間特許出願件数が約200件で特許出願明細書の自社作成割合が50%（すなわち、外部の特許事務所での作成が50%）の日本企業が、外部特許事務所での作成割合を増やすことを検討している。外部特許事務所での作成割合を増やすべきか、否かを検討するに際しての論点を洗い出したい。』というテーマで、バランスの取れた議論をするための最適なペルソナ3人を用意して議論させるという手法を試してみました。
なかなか面白い議論になっています。さらに下記のような追加質問をしてみました。
『洗い出した論点を中心に、年間特許出願件数が約200件で特許出願明細書の自社作成割合が50%（すなわち、外部の特許事務所での作成が50%）の日本企業が、外部特許事務所での作成割合を増やすことを検討している。外部特許事務所での作成割合を増やすべきか、提言案を作成してください。』
提言に時間軸が入っていなかったので、
『提言に時間軸を入れてください。』
『この提言を実行する場合に予想される問題点、及びそれへの対応策について説明してください。』
『成功例、失敗例があれば紹介してください。』
教科書的には、なかなか良い出来栄えになっています。
「As Is(現在の姿)」及び「To Be(ありたい姿)」を細かく示して考えさせると、実務で使える水準になります。

I tested a method using OpenAI o1 to facilitate a balanced discussion on whether a Japanese company, which files approximately 200 patent applications annually and prepares 50% of its patent specifications in-house (with the remaining 50% outsourced to external patent firms), should increase the proportion prepared by external firms.
The method involved preparing three well-balanced personas to conduct the discussion, and it turned out to be quite an interesting debate.
Furthermore, I posed additional questions such as:

• "Based on the identified discussion points, please draft a proposal addressing whether this Japanese company should increase the proportion of patent specifications prepared by external patent firms."

Since the proposal lacked a timeline, I followed up with:

• "Please include a timeline in the proposal."
• "Explain the potential issues anticipated when implementing this proposal and the corresponding countermeasures."
• "If there are any success or failure cases, please introduce them."

From a textbook perspective, the output was quite impressive.
By clearly specifying the 'As Is' (current state) and 'To Be' (desired state), the discussion can be elevated to a level that is practically applicable.
