知財・無形資産で日本企業の価値向上と持続的成長を如何にして実現するか

ある研究会で、一般社団法人 ディレクトフォース　企業ガバナンス部会・研究会の「知財・無形資産で日本企業の価値向上と持続的成長を如何にして実現するか」という研究成果をWEBで聴講する機会を得ました。短い時間での駆け足の発表でしたが、同感と頷くことの多い発表でした。
ホームページに報告書がアップされていましたので、精読しました。2024 年 1 月以降 7 月中旬まで、原則月 2 回会合を行い議論を重ねたということもあるでしょう、参考資料、引用文献も多く記載され、大変な力作です。
あとがきも印象的です。「知財・無形資産への投資と活用を通じて、企業価値向上と持続的成長を実現する要諦はなんであろうか。それはやはり経営層の知財・無形資産に対する関心・理解とそれに基づいた積極的な行動であると考える。その根底のもとで知財部門の変革が進み会社全体における活動内容も変容するものと考える。それを実行するためにも社外のさまざまな好事例を研究して自社に適合する活動を積極的に取り入れていくことが求められる。」

How to Achieve Value Enhancement and Sustainable Growth for Japanese Companies through Intellectual Property and Intangible Assets
 
At a study group, I had the opportunity to listen to a presentation on the research findings titled "How to Achieve Value Enhancement and Sustainable Growth for Japanese Companies through Intellectual Property and Intangible Assets," conducted by the Corporate Governance Division and Study Group of the General Incorporated Association, Directforce. Although the presentation was brief and fast-paced, it resonated deeply and featured many points I found myself nodding in agreement with.
 
The report has been uploaded on their website, so I gave it a thorough read. Considering that the study group met twice a month from January to mid-July 2024 to engage in discussions, the report is truly a monumental effort, with extensive references and supporting materials.
 
The afterword left a strong impression:
"What is the key to achieving value enhancement and sustainable growth for companies through investment in and utilization of intellectual property and intangible assets? Ultimately, it lies in the interest and understanding of intellectual property and intangible assets by the management team, coupled with proactive actions based on that understanding. Underpinning this is the belief that the transformation of intellectual property departments will advance, leading to changes in activities throughout the company. To implement this, it is essential to study various successful examples outside the company and actively incorporate activities suited to one’s own organization."
