『失われた30年とは「知財戦略で敗れた30年」　IBM、エヌビディアが実践する“攻めのオープンな知財戦略”とは』（野村総合研究所・林力一氏に聞く）は、「技術の特性を理解し、それを顧客価値に変換できる能力」を身に付け、「製品を提供するだけでなく、顧客が抱える課題を理解し、それに応える新たな価値を提案することで、顧客との関係を深め、持続的な取引を確立していくこと」が「攻めのオープンな知財戦略」の柱であるということです。
「多くの産業がソリューションビジネスに転換しつつある今、知財・無形資産をどのように取得し、事業に組み込むかは、会社の将来像、ビジネスを考える上での「前工程」となった。だから、経営者は知財戦略の監督に取り組み、株主らに展望を説明すべきなのだ。」
これが理解できていないと、今までの延長線上に終わってしまいます。

“As many industries are shifting towards solution-based businesses, how to acquire intellectual property and intangible assets and incorporate them into business has become a 'front-end' process in considering the future of the company and its business. That is why managers should work on overseeing intellectual property strategies and explain their vision to shareholders.”
Failing to grasp this concept will result in nothing more than continuing along the same trajectory as before.
