東京大学TLOは大学の研究成果を社会に還元するための活動を積極的に展開、近年では、技術移転の収入が大幅に増加しており、東京大学TLOの技術移転収入は、2023年度に125億円に達したということです。
東京大学TLO設立以来の技術移転実績は、以下のとおりです。

東京大学TLOは、スタートアップ創業支援にも力を注いでおり、産学連携を強化するために企業とのパートナーシップを積極的に推進しており、グローバル市場への進出を視野に入れた技術移転活動を展開、特に、海外の企業との連携やライセンス契約の締結が進んでいるようです。

Technology Transfer Achievements Since the Establishment of the University of Tokyo TLO
 
The University of Tokyo TLO has been actively promoting activities to return the university's research achievements to society. In recent years, income from technology transfer has significantly increased, and it is reported that the technology transfer income of the University of Tokyo TLO reached 12.5 billion yen in the fiscal year 2023.
The technology transfer achievements since the establishment of the University of Tokyo TLO are as follows:

• Total number of applications: 18,272
• Total number of contracts (including joint applications): 6,382
  • Of which, the number of license agreements: 1,665
• Total royalty income: 12.56 billion yen
• Number of products generating running royalties: 372
• Number of joint research matchings: 174
• Total amount of joint research matchings: 2.71871 billion yen

The University of Tokyo TLO is also focusing on supporting startup creation and actively promoting partnerships with companies to strengthen industry-academia collaboration. They are developing technology transfer activities with a view to entering the global market, and it appears that collaborations and license agreements with overseas companies are progressing well.
