WIPO 日本事務所 Webinar「特許とAI」

2025年3月4日にWIPO 日本事務所 Webinar「特許とAI」があり、特許庁　審査第四部 情報処理（人工知能）室長 高橋 克氏が「特許とAI」に関して紹介されました。
AI技術の概要、AI関連特許出願の動向、AI技術が特許制度やその関係者に与える影響について、特許庁が公表している審査事例集等を交えつつ、最新の状況が紹介されました。

「AIサイエンティストがアイデアを生成し、実験を行い、論文を書くという流れまで行っている。今後、こういった生成AIがさらに発展して、AIが自ら発明した、という主張が出てくるかもしれない。」というのは同感ですが、すでにそれに近い段階になっているように感じています。

WIPO Japan Office Webinar: "Patents and AI"
 
On March 4, 2025, the WIPO Japan Office held a webinar titled "Patents and AI", featuring Mr. Katsu Takahashi, Director of the Information Processing (Artificial Intelligence) Office, Fourth Examination Department of the Japan Patent Office (JPO). He provided an overview of "Patents and AI."
The webinar covered the latest developments regarding AI technology, trends in AI-related patent applications, and the impact of AI technology on the patent system and its stakeholders. The discussion incorporated examples from the examination case collection published by the JPO.

Regarding the statement:
"AI scientists are now generating ideas, conducting experiments, and even writing papers. In the future, as generative AI continues to evolve, there may be claims that AI itself has invented something."
I completely agree with this perspective. However, I feel that we are already approaching that stage.
