米国特許商標庁（USPTO）における生成AI活用

2025年6月4日、米国特許商標庁（USPTO）は、「USPTO向け自動化ソリューション（人工知能を含む）」と題する情報提供依頼書（Request for Information: RFI）およびベンダーとの意見交換の通知を公表しました（以下「RFI」）。このRFIによれば、単なる先行技術調査の補助に留まらず、請求項と先行技術の比較分析、クレームチャートの生成、そして最終的にはオフィスアクションの草案作成までを担う、エンドツーエンドの審査支援システムを構想しています。

Use of Generative AI by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)
On June 4, 2025, the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) released a Request for Information (RFI) titled “Automated Solutions for USPTO (Including Artificial Intelligence),” along with a notice for discussions with vendors.
According to the RFI, the USPTO is envisioning an end-to-end examination support system. This system would not only assist with prior art searches but also perform comparative analysis between claims and prior art, generate claim charts, and even draft office actions.
