MIXI知財室は生成AIの全面導入により、特許出願のリードタイムを最大4割削減し、少人数で大規模組織に匹敵する業務遂行能力を実現しました。さらに、特許出願・FTO調査・中間処理・商標区分推定・外部掲出物チェックという主要業務すべてにAIを組み込み、「守りの知財」から「事業戦略に貢献する攻めの知財」への転換を打ち出しています。
この取り組みは、全社AI利用率99%・月間17,600時間の業務削減を達成したMIXI全社のAI推進方針を知財領域で具体化したものとなっています。

From Defensive IP to Offensive IP Contributing to Business Strategy through MIXI’s Adoption of Generative AI
MIXI’s Intellectual Property Department has fully implemented generative AI, achieving up to a 40% reduction in patent filing lead time and enabling a small team to perform at a level comparable to a large-scale organization. Furthermore, AI has been integrated into all core operations—including patent filing, FTO analysis, office action handling, trademark classification estimation, and review of external publications—marking a shift from “defensive IP” to “offensive IP” that actively contributes to business strategy.
This initiative represents the embodiment, within the IP domain, of MIXI’s company-wide AI strategy, which has achieved a 99% AI utilization rate and reduced working time by 17,600 hours per month.
