生命誕生からChatGPT38億年の創発

YouTubeにアップされた『日本フンボルト協会主催第３回 AIオンラインシンポジウム「生命誕生からChatGPT38億年の創発」（2024年10月12日、西川伸一先生）』を視聴しました。
情報とアルゴリズムという視点から生命の進化とAIの進化を比較検討しており、なるほどと思います。
『今や、DNAを情報とするモデルと、自然言語を情報とするモデルを、最終的に自然言語へ一元的に統合させようとする研究が、人間を対象とする医療分野で急速に進展し始めました。言語を脳機能の道具化と考えると、この統合の動きは人間の身体と脳機能を現象論的であっても統合するという、長年の夢が叶いつつあることを意味します。38億年前に生物が誕生してから、ホモサピエンスが言語を獲得することで始まった歴史の必然が現在の生成AIに具現化しているように思えます。』

3.8 Billion Years of Emergence from the Birth of Life to ChatGPT
 
I watched the video uploaded to YouTube titled ‘The 3rd AI Online Symposium Hosted by the Japan Humboldt Association: "3.8 Billion Years of Emergence from the Birth of Life to ChatGPT" (October 12, 2024, presented by Dr. Nishikawa).’
Dr. Nishikawa compares the evolution of life with the evolution of AI from the perspective of information and algorithms, which I find quite insightful.
‘Now, research is rapidly advancing in the medical field, focusing on humans, aiming to ultimately unify models that treat DNA as information with models that use natural language as information, consolidating both into natural language. If we consider language as a tool of brain function, this movement toward integration suggests that the long-held dream of unifying human body and brain function, even if phenomenologically, is coming to fruition. Since life emerged 3.8 billion years ago, the historical inevitability that began when Homo sapiens acquired language seems to be manifesting in today’s generative AI.’
