Anthropic社が2026年4月7日にその存在を公表したミュトスは、サイバー攻撃で「穴」となるソフトウェアやシステムの弱点を見つける能力を飛躍的に高めたところ、専門家が長年見つけられなかった弱点を簡単に見破ったということで、そのあまりにも強力かつ破壊的な能力ゆえに、一般公開が見送られるという前例のない措置が取られました。
こうした金融システムへの大きな脅威になりうる新型AIに対応するため、日本でも片山さつき金融担当相は4月24日、金融業界のトップらを集めた官民連携会議を開き、新たな体制づくりを決めました。

AI “Mythos” as an “Imminent Threat”
“Mythos,” whose existence was disclosed by Anthropic on April 7, 2026, has dramatically advanced the ability to detect vulnerabilities—so-called “holes”—in software and systems that could be exploited in cyberattacks. It reportedly identified weaknesses with ease that experts had failed to uncover for many years. Due to its extraordinarily powerful and potentially destructive capabilities, an unprecedented decision was made to withhold its public release.
To address this new type of AI, which could pose a major threat to financial systems, Japan’s Minister for Financial Services, Satsuki Katayama, convened a public-private meeting of top financial industry leaders on April 24 and decided to establish a new framework.
