イノベーション拠点税制（イノベーションボックス税制）とは、イノベーションに関する国際競争が激化する中、研究開発拠点としての立地競争力を強化し、民間による無形資産投資を後押しすることを目的として、特許権・AI関連のプログラムの著作物から生じるライセンス等の所得に対して30パーセントを所得控除する制度で、2025年4月からイノベーションボックス税制の適用が開始されます。

The Innovation Hub Tax Regime (also known as the Innovation Box Tax Regime) is a system introduced in April 2025 with the aim of enhancing the competitiveness of Japan as a location for research and development, amid intensifying global competition in innovation. It is designed to support private-sector investment in intangible assets by allowing a 30% income deduction on income derived from licenses and similar sources related to patents and AI-related software copyrights.
