知財・無形資産ガバナンス表彰（2024年度）

知財・無形資産の戦略的活用により企業価値の向上を実現した企業を表彰する目的で設けられた「知財・無形資産ガバナンス表彰（2024年度）」で、【最優秀賞】味の素株式会社【優秀賞】株式会社アシックス、【特別賞】株式会社カプコン、デクセリアルズ株式会社、株式会社日立製作所 が表彰されました。各社は、それぞれ独自の無形資産を中核とする経営戦略や、情報開示、取締役会の関与などにおいて高く評価され、今後の知財・無形資産戦略の指針となる事例として位置付けられています。
 
上場企業3,823社を対象になり、
（1）数値基準による評価対象企業のスクリーニング（流通時価総額等により 397 社に絞り込み）
（2）数値基準による評価対象企業の順位付け（製造業・非製造業別に、無形資産比率、資本収益性（ROIC）、特許保有状況、統合報告書開示内容等で順位付け）
（3）審査委員による「審査基準 10 項目」に基づく企業評価と表彰企業の推薦（ランキング上位企業 17 社より必須で 1 社、任意で上位 17 社以外から 1 社推薦可）、同審査委員会の審議を経て表彰対象企業 5 社を選定
（4）表彰対象企業５社へのインタビュー調査を含めて審査委員会で改めて審議し、表彰内容（最優秀賞、優秀賞、特別賞）を決定
 
「審査基準 10 項目」
１ 自社の将来の姿（経営戦略、事業戦略、ビジネスモデル、事業ポートフォリオなど）から経営課題を認識し、それを実現するための価値造ストーリーの中に知財・無形資産戦略が組み込まれているか
２ 自社の経営目標やビジョンを実現するために、経営戦略、事業戦略として、知財・無形資産のガバナンスや投資・活用が組み込まれ、実行されているか
３ 現在のビジネスモデルや将来のビジネスモデルにおいて、それを支える自社の強みとなる知財・無形資産を客観的に把握・分析できているか
４ 現在のビジネスモデルや将来のビジネスモデルを支える自社の強みとなる知財・無形資産の投資・活用を実現するに必要な機能および人財を客観的に把握・分析できているか
５ 知財・無形資産投資が、自社の価値創造プロセスのなかで、どのような成果に結びつけられるのか、企図する因果パスなど非（未）財務的のみならず財務的にも客観的に説明ができているか知財・無形資産投資について、現在および将来の自社の経営指標（財務指標、ROIC等）と結びつけて、情報開示や中長期投資かとの対話ができているか
６ 知財・無形資産の投資・活用に対するガバナンス体制（執行レベルおよび取締役会レベルでの監督）が構築されているか
７ 知財・無形資産の投資について、そのビジョンや中長期計画、知財・無形資産戦略、執行レベルおよび取締役会での監督状況等に関して具体的にコーポレートガバナンス報告書や統合報告書等で情報開示が行われているか
８ 知財・無形資産を創造し、投資・活用する人財を育成し、彼・彼女らの成果を公平に評価し、事業で貢献してもらう仕組みが構築されているか
９ 知財・無形資産の喪失・毀損による事業競争力の低下や、知財権の侵害、機密情報等知的財産の漏洩・毀損、無形資産の毀損等による事業継続不能・損害賠償金支払い等リスクをコントロールし、知財・無形資産の投資・活用を戦略的に実現するための新たなビジネスモ
デル構築等を可能とする戦略的法務機能を有し、適切なリスクマネジメント体制が全社的に構築・実現されているか

Intellectual Property and Intangible Asset Governance Awards (FY2024)
 
The “Intellectual Property and Intangible Asset Governance Awards (FY2024)” were established to recognize companies that have achieved improvements in corporate value through the strategic use of intellectual property and intangible assets. The awards were given to Ajinomoto Co., Inc. for the Grand Prize, ASICS Corporation for the Excellence Award, and Capcom Co., Ltd., DIC Corporation, and Hitachi, Ltd. for the Special Award. Each company was highly evaluated for its management strategy centered on its own unique intangible assets, information disclosure, and involvement of the board of directors, and is positioned as a case study that will serve as a guide for future intellectual property and intangible asset strategies.
 
The study covered 3,823 listed companies, and
(1) screened the companies to be evaluated based on numerical criteria (narrowing down the list to 397 companies based on factors such as market capitalization)
(2) ranked the companies to be evaluated based on numerical criteria (ranking companies in the manufacturing and non-manufacturing sectors based on factors such as intangible asset ratio, return on invested capital (ROIC), patent holdings, and integrated report disclosure content)
(3) Evaluation of companies by the judging committee based on the “10 judging criteria” and recommendation of award-winning companies (one company from the top 17 companies in the rankings is mandatory, and one company from outside the top 17 companies is optional), and selection of five award-winning companies through deliberations by the judging committee
(4) Deliberations by the judging committee, including interviews with the five award-winning companies, and determination of award details (Grand Prize, Excellence Award, Special Award)
